The 24 painting project, based on an essay of Walter Benjamin; Art in The Age of Mechanical Reproduction, is a serie of 24 the same paintings with an image of a randomly chosen subject. The serie doesn’t particularly concern the art of painting as such, but concerns the value of something unique as a painting.

A value which both increases and decreases by the recurrence of reproduction.
At the same time I occupied myself with my task as `an artist' anno 2009, an era of an abundance to pictures, the hyperreal and speed. I longed for the craft just because of the craft, the act for the act and found the romance of uselessness.
