Aukje Dekker and Pacome Beru got to know each other during a residency at the Mobile Institute in Brussels. During their stay the idea arose to make a film on the never ending human struggle to achieve happiness. Working hard, making decisions that may or may not be the right ones, we aim for something abstract: a state of happiness, which we are not even sure will do to us once we achieve it. In the film we see the two artists breaking through a wall with their feet and fists. Behind the wall is a room filled with laughing-gas, used here as an invisible enemy promising euphoria, but with uncertain effects. The movements of the artists, after reaching the other room, instantly become slower and pretty soon they both faint.
